Bachelor thesis submitted
This last Thursday I submitted my Bachelor thesis. A period of hard work ended with uploading my thesis for the approval of the University .
The subject was Why do people craft – driving forces examined through text analysis of the Swedish Craft and Design magazine Hemslöjd. More about the results in a blog post soon to come.

Graduation exhibition
Welcome to the graduation exhibition Creators of things and thoughts – Things and thoughts part 9. The third year students of the Bachelor Programme for Craft and Design are presenting their individuall graduation projects.
Come and experience the sustainable and personal craft products the that future craftsmen and designers have to offer. With new perspectives we explore tradition and create the future within sloyd, handicraft and design. The exhibition presents the result of our individual graduation projects. Who are we? We are creators of things and thoughts.

Trying out shapes part II
Glädje när examensarbetet tar form Slutspurten var intensiv med att få klart examensarbetet. Här är en lite suddig bild från när jag testar axelpartiets form. Min process har varit öppen där jag låtit materialet få styra formgivningen. Mina val av stickteknik, antal trådar, stickornas grovlek och annat har också påverkat materialet. Men processen varit mer öppen än i mina tidigare projekt eftersom designen har utvecklats efterhand under arbetets gång. Startpunkten var att arbeta fram en krage som lyfte fram bäraren. Slutresultatet blev objektet PROUD. Mer om det kommer i bloggen.
Moments of joy in the process I worked hard finalizing my exam project. Here a quick shot from when I am trying out the shape of the shoulder. I was really pleased that the parts where starting to come together. It has been an open process working with the material in designing the final object. Of course my choices of knitting technique, number of yarn threads, knitting needles and other things have had impact on the behaviour of the material. But still, my process has been more open minded than earlier on. The design has evolved during the work process. The idea I started working from was a collar that promoted the person wearing it. The final result became the object PROUD. More about that soon to come.
